It is possible the title will raise ire with readers who think there is no need to have sympathy for the likes of Marie Antoinette. She was a silly, vain, poorly educated creature who did not understand the impact her unreserved financial and personal choices had on her husband (King Louis XVI), her children, and ultimately her country.
