We're leaving this morning, July 4 for Shanghai. We are delighted to be catching the direct flight from there to Newark, landing in New Jersey around 6pm on July 4th. The symbolism is not lost on me.
Is this ironic? Or just symbolic? Whatever, at least they spelled "Old" and "Navy" correctly.
The excitement is palatable as we do our last second packing, eating of everything in the fridge and generally scrambling about as one does when when is leaving for a six week stay Somewhere Other Than Home. Or are we Going Home? I can't work that one out.
Looking forward to seeing those we'll be seeing, breathing fresh air and seeing the sun! Woot!

PS, the plan is to keep blogging all summer. Not because our summer activities are all so fascinating but because I am so far behind in what all happened in China. Finishing Cambodia, heading back to finish up the Yangtze River Cruise, plus the myriad of other random events. We shall see, but with access to high speed internet, it seems likely that I can get caught up by our return date in August.
Hope you have safe travels and enjoy your time at home.
